On this week’s podcast Rob and Kate talk about their bookish day out in London on Wednesday 16th April, and look ahead to World Book Night on Wednesday 23rd April.
On Wednesday 16th, Rob got the chance to release his (not-so-)inner fanboy at the Bond In Motion exhibition at the London Film Museum, just off Covent Garden in London. This features many of the vehicles, and some props and gadgets, from the Bond films. He and Kate then went to the Tintin Shop, again just off Covent Garden, on Floral Street, where Rob found lots of books and collectables. More at http://www.thetintinshop.uk.com
Next, it was Kate’s turn to pick the destination and they headed to the Illustrationcupboard Gallery, on Bury Street, just off Piccadilly, a gallery dedicated to artwork by book illustrators. More at http://www.illustrationcupboard.com
Finally, they went to the launch of The Boy In The Book by Nathan Penlington (published by Headline), and were treated to a performance of Choose Your Own Documentary – the story behind the book.
We also talk about World Book Night. We’re both pleased to be Givers again; Rob will be giving Gorky Park by Martin Cruz Smith and Kate is giving Getting Rid Of Matthew by Jane Fallon. More details about World Book Night, including the rest of the titles and local events, here http://www.worldbooknight.org

Episode 91. An Adventures With Words production.
The latest Literary Disco episode featured a brilliant discussion of a Choose Your Own Adventure book – maybe there’s a revival imminent?!
I have to admit, I did go on to ebay straight after for a look on some old Choose Your Own adventures. I’ll have to give that episode a listen! – Rob
