We’re thrilled to announce we’re opening a book shop! Well, sort of – actually, we’ve just opened our “store” as part of the new initiative supported by hive, My Independent Bookshop. Rob and I have selected six books each; they’re all firm favourites across a huge range of styles and genres.

Anyone can sign up, select up to twelve titles for their shelves and then choose a local independent bookshop to link to their online page. If a book is purchased from the online store, hive will give that real life bookshop some of the profit from the sale of that book. So, you can buy online and still support a local bookshop.
I really think this is such a good idea. It’s a step closer towards an initiative that doesn’t just speak to people buying books already; it means that bookshops someone may never visit in person could feel some benefit. Let’s hope it makes a difference.
