Always give as a gift: The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and A Bit Lost #bookaday

One of the best things about loving books is buying books, and one of the best things about buying books is buying them as gifts for other people. Kate has given A Bit Lost by Chris Haughton and Rob has given The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams.

Rob: I first read The Hitchhiker’s Guide when I was at primary school and, reading it again as an adult, it’s still as funny as ever. It’s the perfect gift as there really is something there for everyone. From sci-fi to its witty humour, there’s very little here not to like.

Kate: Quite a few couples I know have produced lovely small people of their own in the last few years and I relish the chance to give them picture books – there are some beautifully illustrated books out there at the moment, with sweet, funny, engaging stories to match. I loved A Bit Lost as soon as I saw it, with its collage-style bold graphic images. I bought it for the son of my good friends, but enjoyed reading it with him so much that I went back for my own copy.
