Bought On A Recommendation: The Name of the Rose and The Sisters Brothers #bookadayUK

Which hidden gem did Kate and Rob discover after being recommended a book?

Kate: I was told, never mind that Dan Brown nonsense, try a bit of Umberto Eco. Try The Name of the Rose. This is a fantastic medieval detective story all about the power of books and stories, set around a library. There is a film, which is good fun, but Eco’s plotting is something else.

Rob: With a gorgeous cover and glowing reviews, it wasn’t hard to persuade me to purchase The Sisters Brothers by Patrick deWitt. It was an excellent recommendation, proving to be not only a riveting read but also an excellent book club choice, provoking an enthusiastic discussion.
