Which books are set to become future classics?
Kate: For a debut, The Golem and the Djinni by Helene Wecker is a novel of huge ambition and scale, spanning continents from the old world to the new and combining traditions of Eastern Europe and Persia with the East Side of Manhattan. The sense of time and place is bewitching, and the characters are by great too – mark my words, this will stand the test of time!
Rob: Where do I begin? An incredibly inventive and mentally stimulating book that takes the reader on quite a ride. The Raw Shark Texts by Steven Hall has quickly become a firm favourite of mine and one of the few books that on finishing I immediately wanted to read again and again.
