Rob and Kate have gone for the same out-of-print title today, as they recently discovered when they tried to get a copy for their book club podcast Hear…Read This!: the classic children’s fairytale book, A Necklace of Raindrops by Joan Aiken, illustrated by Jan Pienkowski.
Kate suggested A Necklace of Raindrops for Hear…Read This! because, of the four of us, we often enjoy reading books with a ‘grown-up fairytale’ twist and she also thought it would be interesting to see the illustrations again after many years. We never imagined that a book that was so well loved would have gone out of print! Some of Joan Aiken’s adult fiction titles are coming back into print so maybe it’ll mean these wonderful stories will be reappearing too…
