There is nothing better than exploring second hand books, wondering if you’ll find a hidden gem. Today we’ve chosen The Day of the Jackal and High Fidelity.
Rob: I’d like to thank the irresponsible adult for selling a very young me a copy of The Day of the Jackal by Frederick Forsyth at a school fete. I’ve read this about three times now and each time, Forsyth’s detailed look at a potential assassinaton is still as thrilling and riveting as that very first read through.
Kate: I found High Fidelity by Nick Hornby at a tiny book sale at a National Trust place I visited with my parents. Can’t say fairer than that! Now I’m ready to pass it on to the next reader.
