The one I’d save from a fire: Carter Beats The Devil and More Than This #bookadayuk

Books are precious because of their stories, because of the person who gave them to you, but sometimes they become irreplaceable, especially if they’re signed by the author themselves. To save from a fire, Rob has chosen his signed copy of Carter Beats The Devil by Glen David Gold, and Kate has chosen More Than This by Patrick Ness, which will hopefully be signed very soon…

Rob: Carter Beats The Devil shares a special place in my heart with yesterday’s pick of Kavalier and Clay. I first got Glen David Gold’s book in paperback, reading it many times and always making sure it was prominent on my bookshelves when visitors came round. To then get this signed first edition was a dream come true and it is now one of my prized possessions.

Kate: I came to Patrick Ness quite late, bought his Chaos Walking trilogy all in one go, read them one after the other and absolutely loved them. I was thrilled to receive this proof of More Than This, and will be taking it with me to YALC (the Young Adult Literature Convention) in July, where I’m really hoping I’ll be able to get it signed by Patrick himself, which will just make it even more special.
