Some exciting news from our neck of the woods: today, the line-up for Essex Book Festival 2015 was announced at The Mercury Theatre in Colchester. There are some fantastic events to look forward to in March this year, and we can’t wait to be a part of it.
You can pick up a paper copy of the brochure from a number of places – I know they’ll be popping up at The Mercury Theatre, The Minories Gallery and lots of other venues around Colchester – but all the events are online already. Start browsing and pick your favourites!
The theme of the Festival this year is Metamorphosis, as the Festival itself is growing and changing – it now includes the Southend area, and events are taking places in lots of new, different and unusual venues – and it also applies to the type of events that are taking place. There are traditional platform discussions and interviews with some fantastic writers and creatives, but there’s also more about the process of writing, making, creating, publishing and even self-publishing during the month.
Some of our picks of the Festival are Green Carnation nominated Kerry Hudson discussing her latest novel Thirst, bestselling author Jessie Burton discussing her prize-winning debut The Miniaturist, and acclaimed writer Patrick Gale talking about his highly-anticipated new novel A Place Called Winter. We’ll be bringing you more details soon about more great events and also how we’ll be part of the Festival this year. I hope you’ve kept March free…
