We’re thrilled to tell you that we’re part of the blog tour for The Art of Being Normal by Lisa Williamson, one of the most talked-about – and significant – YA debuts of 2015. I read this last year and was bowled over by the story, characters and issues covered and I think you will be too.
Here’s the full details of the blog tour, which has kicked off today at lovereading4kids.co.uk:
We’re rounding off the tour as Kate chats to Lisa on January’s Young Adult Edition podcast about her inspirations, the fantastic characters from The Art of Being Normal and what she enjoys reading herself.
Kate will also be posting her review on Monday 19th (although if you head over to Goodreads, you’ll already see a 5* rating).
In case you’ve not heard about The Art of Being Normal yet, here’s a quick summary of the plot:
Two boys. Two secrets.
David Piper has always been an outsider. His parents think he’s gay. The school bully thinks he’s a freak. Only his two best friends know the real truth – David wants to be a girl.
On the first day at his new school Leo Denton has one goal – to be invisible. Attracting the attention of the most beautiful girl in year eleven is definitely not part of that plan.
When Leo stands up for David in a fight, an unlikely friendship forms. But things are about to get messy. Because at Eden Park School secrets have a funny habit of not staying secret for long…
